I thought this would be a great idea to help teach my kids how to read an analog clock. After receiving one unit, the digital portion of the clock worked great, but the analog hands kept hanging up. After the unit finished syncing up, the analog time wasn’t even close to the digital time (which was correct). I was able to get the time between the analog and digital clocks to within 10 minutes of each other, but the next day I found the second hand hung up at about the ’35′ second position and just oscillating. I left it along for a number of days, since the unit is supposed to re-sync each night. After a few days the analog clock just permanently hung up.
Tried a second unit, and while it started off better, the hands on it would hang up as well. It seems the mechanical mechanism in these clocks is just junk. Maybe a batch problem that won’t be present in other units, but I’ll never know since I’m sure not going to try a third time.
The clock lens is glass, and the LCD portion seems to work well. Upon opening the box I was actually quite impressed. For those that feel inclined to own a decent looking clock, but aren’t too particular about the time it shows, then this might be the deal for you. I would hope that the manufacturer corrects this issue, maybe purchases subsequent to my review will be okay.
The good news is that getting returns and refunds through Amazon couldn’t be easier. These two have gone back, and in my opinion with less hassle than waiting in line at a brick-and-mortar store, particulary post-Christmas.

I bought two of these clocks. One works for a few days and then the analog part of the clock locks up. The other has a minutes hand that does not move. Both have brand new batteries. Pure junk and very frustrating.

I loaded the 9VDC battery in the clock prior to reading the instructions fully. The hands started turning to initialize the time to 12:00 as is the initial default time for most digital time pieces. I discovered this later after reading the instuctions.
I also discoverered that the clock can be manually set by toggling the mode and wave buttons on the back per the instructions. I purposely set the clock five minutes fast to see if the atomic clock signal would make the correction. My clock is located on the wall in my basement office in Fredericksburg, VA and the signal reached it during the night to set the clock to the correct time.
I use the analog feature for the time and the digital feature for the date and day (e.g. 10-23 THU). The digital feature has the option of displaying the time or the date and day. The year is not displayed. The moon phase is displayed for either feature.
I loved the clock so well until I purchased another one from Amazon.com for my work office at a different location.
I highly recommend this clock and gave it 5 stars.

After installing the batteries, was a little concerned when all the clock arms did was spin…searching for the signal. The next day, the signal had been acquired and the clock info was correct. Analog and digital clock info do not match up exactly.

The digital part of the clock works fine but the analog hands to not sync with digital clock time. I bought this clock because it has hands and I am teaching children to tell time. I guess not with this clock. I sent it back and up the replacement works.
